Healthy Juice Recipes for Healthy-Looking Skin
If you haven’t given up on your New Year’s resolution yet, chances are you’re still thinking about things like heath, wellness, detoxing and eating well. But fruits and vegetables aren’t just for eating to improve your body and fighting off viruses that cause colds. Drinking your fruits and veggies can also increase the health of your skin!
Do-it-yourself juicing is a great way to control what you put in your body, since you’re not adding any preservatives, artificial flavors or sugars. The vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in colorful produce can brighten and improve your complexion.
Fruits & Veggies to the Rescue
Apples can help prevent cell loss, tissue damage, wrinkles and aging. Carrots can improve your skin, as well as your vision. They are an excellent source of vitamin A, E and K, potassium, folate, manganese, phosphorous, magnesium and zinc.
Ginger is rich in skin-supporting antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals which promote a smooth and clear skin. Citrus fruits are high in vitamin C, which can brighten skin, and a glass of water with lemon juice can make your skin clear and beautiful. Cucumbers juice contains silica, which is hydrating and will create a glowing complexion.
If you want more radiant, healthy skin, try a green juice recipe. Most green juices are packed with nutrients and help your body detoxify. Plus, it’s a great way to drink the green vegetables your body and skin crave, but you can “hide” the taste with delicious fruits. Here’s one of our simple favorites, a Glowing Skin Green Juice. It takes just five minutes to make, and you only need three ingredients.
You will need:
- 4 large apples
- 6 celery stalks
- 2 kale leaves
Wash the ingredients. Core the apples, chop the celery stalks and de-stem the kale leaves. Throw everything into a juicer and pulse it for 1-2 minutes. Once juiced, pour the liquid into a glass with ice and drink it right away!
the Super 8
For even more vibrant skin, try blending all these together for a juice called the Super 8:
- 1 kale leaf
- 1 collard leaf
- Handful of parsley
- 1 stalk of celery
- 1 carrot
- 1/2 red pepper
- 1 tomato
- 1 broccoli floret
